Meet my neighbor Larry. He’s 72. He lost his leg in Vietnam.
Up here in the mountains we get weather. Lots of it. Larry’s out there pedaling no matter what. Yesterday, he was out there in snow. The other day he was out there when it was really cold.
A couple weeks ago I was feeling sorry for myself. Then I saw Larry.
Yes, part of life is the struggle. But how we choose to deal with the struggle defines who we are.
Things are never what they seem. When the chips are down we can use, eat, bitch, insert destructive behavior here. We can live a healthy, righteous life, or not. We can get out there and ride – or not. We can choose to be happy, or not.
Larry makes a choice to get out there and ride. What choices will we make today?
