Driving to the pool last night for some laps, listening to The World Cafe with David Dye. It’s my goto source for new music.
He’s talking to Bonnie Bishop. Never heard of her. He’s playing songs from Bonnie’s new record, Ain’t Who I Was.
He plays Too Late. Holy Jeezus, what a great tune. Then he plays Ain’t Who I Was. Then he plays Poor Man’s Melody. Jeezus, these are great tunes. I pulled over and bought the record. I fucking love this record.
Too Late
Poor Man’s Melody
Bonnie has a great story. It’s a story of how the Universe works. It’s a story of no matter how bad things are, there’s a rainbow ahead — if you’ve created it years ago, and you create it each day.
