George Harrison wrote “All Things Must Pass” after the Beatles broke up. For sure, all good things come to an end.
I’ve listened to Garrison Keillor ever since I heard my Mother talking about him and his imaginary home town, Lake Wobegon. For so long I can’t remember the first time.
My Dad and I saw him twice. My boy Justin talks to himself and I don’t impede him from doing so. Because that’s where dreams come from. Garrison spent years talking to himself.
All things must pass and Garrison’s great run has come to an end. My god, I’ll miss him. But his recordings will live on forever, I’ll surely be listening to old shows till I go. God bless digital. And God bless the fine folks of Lake Wobegon.
If you’ve never listened to GK, now’s a good time to start. In any case here’s his last show, a couple FYI links, two songs from the show that say it all for me, and the perfect ending of the show, an audience sing along. Tears of joy and sadness I had, while listening.
