Just saw this on the NYT:
Colorado Weighs Replacing Obama’s Health Policy With Universal Coverage
I grew up here. For a state that was once most associated with John Denver, mountains, horses and ski areas (psst — we’re still that), we sure are progressive. We’re hipper than CA. But of course I always knew that.
Anyone who thinks legalizing weed hasn’t been a boom for our state, they’re not looking around. Denver is off the charts, our state is booming. Not all the pot money has made its way to schools and that’s a problem. But we’re not even 1 year in.
Now our state wants Universal Health Care? Say what? I haven’t studied this at all, so I have no opinion other than I’m proud to see our state leading the pack on the ultra-important issue of health care.
Up here in the mountains we say “go big or stay home”. Colorado is going big and that’s cool.
