So I’m on the road for a couple of days. Do I change what I eat? No way. Is it hard to be plant powered while I’m on the road? No.
Instead of buying something in the airport, I made a bag that I’ll snack from. It’ll last me till I get back.
In the bag is my tea from Dynamic Roots. Note the reusable tea bags. Thanks Dawn!
I also brought my own honey, from Paonia.
The mix is apple slices, pumpkin seeds, golden raisins, and cashews. It’s yummy, way better than the popcorn or crap I used to buy in airports.
I bring my own thermos and water bottle. Plastic water bottles are immoral.
I booked a room that has a fridge and a kitchen. When I get off the plane I’m on my way to the health food store.
I am going to eat with a customer. If we go out the rule is I buy, but we have to go to a vegan friendly joint. I checked, my customer doesn’t have a problem with that. If not, I invite them over to my place and I’ll have some food for them. If that doesn’t work, then I’ve done my part. I only eat what I eat, not what they eat. I explain to them why, I’ve never had anyone bitch at me about it. In fact it’s the opposite – they appreciate that I’m militant about what I eat.
So it’s not hard to stay on track while traveling. It just takes desire. Bonus is that I get the opportunity to share with others, hopefully move them to taking action.
