I saw the Eagles with Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt at Anaheim Stadium in the 70’s when I split to CA and Hollywood. I saw them here in CO at one of the Colorado Sundays, saw them at Red Rocks.
The Eagles were one of my favorite bands. Their brand of music really connected with me here in CO. Because back in the 70’s, Denver was still a secret — a really hip “dusty ‘ole cowtown”. We were western, but we were also rock and roll. Denver was so hip back then.
What I loved more than anything about the Eagles were their harmonies. Jeezus, they sang great together. Going all the way back to the Beatles, to the Beach Boys, I love harmonies. It’s rare I hear music these days with harmonies. That’s sad.
From Already Gone:
“So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains. And we never even know we have the key”.
Glenn was a great song writer, guitar player, and one helluva rock and roll star. God bless you, Glenn.
Here’s a few Eagles songs I love:
