This Tuesday American voters look like they’re going to hand the keys to the car back to Republicans. The same Republicans who crashed our economy, who lied to us about Iraq. The same party who, when asked about climate change proffers “I’m not a scientist”. But when asked about anything else — like the economy, they’re quick to comment — even though they’re not economists. Or they have an opinion about automobiles, even though they’re not engineers. The same party who I bet will vote for war, as soon as the next legislative session begins.
It looks like Joni Ernst will win in Iowa. The woman who basically is saying she’d shoot a government official, if ever charged with something she didn’t agree with. She has called for President Barack Obama’s impeachment and thinks states should be free to nullify federal laws. She has vowed to vote for a federal constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, and she buys into the conspiracy theory that the United Nations’ “Agenda 21” is a secret plan to usurp democracy.
Next up are the Ebola comments from former executive director of the South Carolina, GOP, Todd Kincannon. Here’s what he said, link from Wonkette:
Pro-Life’ Sociopath Todd Kincannon Has Simple Solution For Ebola: Execute All Patients
No shit. He really said that. I couldn’t believe it, either.
And then there’s Kansas. The Republican Governor there, Sam Brownback, has basically run the state into the ground, all in the name of lower taxes. Along comes a centric Democrat, Paul Davis, to run against him. But then it was revealed that 16 years ago Paul went to a strip club. He didn’t buy a hooker, he did what most American male’s have done, including his opposition. No. The guy went to a strip club — once. Now, he’s behind in the polls.
The voters in Kansas have kids that go to school and hear swearing. They watch Molly Cyrus doing this. They see and hear sexual innuendo on network TV. They see…whatever they want to on their iPhones or Facebook. But they won’t vote for Mr. Davis all because he went to a strip club once??
America, you get the government you don’t learn about.
Finally, there’s Democratic candidate Alison Grimes. She’s running against Mitch McConnell in Kentucky. She’s not going to win — because she doesn’t deserve to. Grimes doesn’t even have the courage/character/ethics to admit she voted for Obama.
Grimes is everything that’s wrong with Democratic party.
