In an interview on CBS’ “60 Minutes” on Sunday, Comey said Apple’s encryption standards for iPhones and iPads “put people beyond the law.”
Keep an eye on this one. It’s pretty easy to see where this is going — the Fed’s are going to want to make Apple and other device manufacturers open up their hardware, to let them inside so they can track us. Of course doing so would be akin to giving the Fed’s keys to our homes.
We’ll see where this goes. But my bet is that we’ll see some legislation proposed, by Republicans, the same crew that says they’re against big government and regulations. Probably, in this next legislation session.
